In short: A made-to-measure bioclimatic pergola starts at 8 790 € excl. VAT. The price is set by size, louvre control and extras. In Slovakia, from 1 April 2025 a ground-level building up to 50 m² and 5 m high is a minor structure under Act 25/2025 Coll.. The price includes the surface finish and turnkey installation.
Price is the first question we get on bioclimatic pergolas. That is fair: it is the largest outlay among pergola types, and a structure that should serve you for decades. This article shows what the price is made of, what can raise or lower it, and how you get an exact figure for your terrace before you commit to anything.
If you first want to be clear on what a bioclimatic pergola is and how it works, start with our guide what is a bioclimatic pergola. Here we stay with price.
How much does a made-to-measure bioclimatic pergola cost?
Our bioclimatic pergola starts at 8 790 € excl. VAT. That is the entry price of a smaller build, and every other configuration is priced from there. Because we design and make each pergola to the exact terrace, there is no single universal price list. There is a logic by which the price is calculated, and that is what the next sections explain. If the pergola will stand on a terrace by the house, read pergola for a terrace first.
For comparison: a standard aluminium pergola with a fixed roof costs less, because it has no moving louvres and no operating mechanism. A bioclimatic pergola is the most technically complex structure we offer, and the louvre technology is a large part of its price.
What affects the price of a bioclimatic pergola?
The price is made of a few decisions you take at the design stage. None of them is hidden: on the quote we itemise every line.
| Factor | How it affects the price |
|---|---|
| Structure size | The strongest factor. A larger area means more profiles, louvres and beams |
| Louvre control | A manual crank is cheaper; motorised remote control is more comfortable |
| Front side shading | Vertical screens on the sides raise the price, but turn the pergola into a year-round space |
| Integrated lighting | LED strips in the structure or the louvres; a popular extra for evening sitting |
| Colour finish | Standard RAL shades are in the base price; special decorative finishes are extra |
| Anchoring and base | Fixing to an existing terrace is simpler than preparing a new base |
| Access for installation | A hard-to-reach plot can lengthen the install, which shows up in the labour cost |
Size: why is every price individual?
Two bioclimatic pergolas almost never match. A terrace on a family house in Nitra has a different width, height and shape from a terrace on a new build in Bratislava. The pergola is designed to sit exactly on the house facade, respect the windows, the gutter system and the aspect. Clear height also matters: the clean measure from the floor to the underside of the structure, which on our pergolas runs from 210 to 250 cm depending on whether you later plan to add front shading.
That is why we quote an entry price “from”, not one fixed sum. Once we know your terrace dimensions and the equipment you want, we can give you the price exactly, and that figure then holds.
Louvres and how they are operated: where comfort is decided
The heart of a bioclimatic pergola is the tilting aluminium louvres. Open, they let through light and air. Closed, they form a continuous roof that holds rain and snow. They are operated in two ways:
- Manually, with a crank. A simple and more affordable option. With the crank you open, close or set the louvres to any position.
- Motorised, by remote control. The more comfortable option: you change the louvre position with one button, without getting up from the table.
Motorisation means a higher purchase price, but on pergolas used every day it is the extra customers praise most. At the design stage we will advise whether it is worth it, or whether a crank will do.
Accessories that turn the pergola into a year-round space
A bioclimatic pergola can be extended. The most requested extra is front side shading: vertical screens that protect against side wind, low sun and curious neighbours. With shading and integrated lighting the pergola becomes an outdoor room you use from early spring to late autumn. Accessories can be added later, but it is cheapest to plan them at the design stage, so the structure is prepared for them in the workshop.
What is included in the price, and what is not?
We stand by a transparent price. The price of every bioclimatic pergola of ours includes:
- the final surface finish of the structure in the chosen colour,
- complete turnkey installation at your address, including delivery,
- warranty and after-warranty service by our own team.
The price therefore covers the whole process from production to handover. You do not have to arrange transport, installers or extra fasteners. Installation itself usually takes 1 to 2 days, depending on the size of the structure. How the day runs is in the article on installing an aluminium bioclimatic pergola.
Bioclimatic pergola or winter garden: which is worth more?
On a budget of around ten thousand euros, customers often weigh both options. The difference is the character of the space. A bioclimatic pergola is more open: the louvres regulate sun and air, but the sides stay free (or are fitted with screens). A winter garden is a fully glazed room you can use even in frost.
The two solutions overlap in price, so decide by how you want to use the space, not by the price. The detailed comparison is in winter garden vs. glazed terrace, and winter garden prices are broken down in the separate price list how much a winter garden costs.
How to save on a bioclimatic pergola without cutting corners?
You can influence the price as well, with sensible decisions in the design:
- Size it with sense. The pergola should follow the terrace, not overhang it “to be safe”. Every extra metre shows in the price, and empty space under the pergola will not be used.
- Decide which extras you need at once. Shading on a north side the sun never reaches need not be bought at all. We will judge the aspect at the design stage.
- Plan extras ahead, buy them in stages. We prepare the structure for shading and lighting in the workshop. You can add them a year later without cutting into the pergola.
- Avoid the cheapest unbranded structures. On louvres, poor quality shows first: play in the bearings, noise in the wind and corrosion at the joints. A pergola is bought once, for decades.
Why is a bioclimatic pergola worth it?
At a price of around ten thousand euros it is fair to ask whether the outlay comes back. Our experience since 2009 is clear:
- Year-round use. A terrace with a bioclimatic pergola is used in summer and in winter, in sun and in rain. Counted per day of use, it is the most efficient covered solution.
- Minimal maintenance. An aluminium structure with a quality surface finish needs no staining or painting. An occasional wash is enough. More is in the guide how to care for an aluminium pergola.
- Property value. A quality made-to-measure pergola raises the appeal and the price of the house at sale.
- Lifespan. A correctly designed and installed pergola serves for decades without major work.
How do you get an exact price for your terrace?
We give you an exact figure only after we have the specific dimensions and a picture of the equipment. The steps are simple and without obligation:
- Contact us via the contact form or by phone. Approximate terrace dimensions and a few photographs are enough.
- We design a solution: column layout, louvre orientation, extras by aspect.
- You receive a fixed price that holds. No extras after installation.

Frequently asked questions
How much does a bioclimatic pergola from Gazebo cost?
The entry price is 8 790 € excl. VAT for a smaller build. The final sum depends on size, louvre control and the extras you choose. You get the exact price in a no-obligation quote.
Is installation included in the price?
Yes. The price includes the final surface finish and complete turnkey installation at your address, including delivery. We install with our own team across Slovakia.
Can I pay for a bioclimatic pergola in instalments?
Instalment options for our products are handled case by case. Get in touch and we will go through the options available for your configuration.
Which costs more: a bioclimatic or a classic aluminium pergola?
A bioclimatic pergola costs more, because it has moving louvres and an operating mechanism. A classic aluminium pergola with a fixed roof costs less, but cannot regulate light and air.
Can I add accessories later?
Yes, side shading and lighting can be fitted later. It is still cheapest to plan them at the design stage, because the structure is then prepared for them in the workshop.
How long does delivery take?
We make every pergola to measure, so the lead time depends on current workshop load and the scope of the project. We confirm a specific date in the quote.
